The annual Durham Mardi Gras starts at CCB Plaza, 201 N. Cocoran St. in downtown Durham. Participants and marching bands will meet at 6-6:30 at The Plaza and then parade east on E. Chapel Hill St. to Rigsbee and North on Riggsbee up to Geer St. There will be bands at Motorco, Fullsteam, The Bar, and Cocoa’s Cinnamon including Mel Melton, Bulltown Strutters and others. Costume, beads and Mardi Gras paraphanelia encouraged, The event is free. More info at www.durhammardigras.com
