Gumbo is a tasty soup that our Louisiana friends enjoy, that can be made with a little bit of everything.
To make a good Dance Gumbo we make a roux of Swing and Salsa, throw in some Zydeco and Ballroom, sprinkle with some Contra Dance and Waltz, and blend in the Two Step, Improv, Cha Cha Cha and you have a tasty treat for the feet.

Dance Gumbo
Every fourth Saturday of month.
Next Dance Gumbo September 25- Theme TBA. 50% Minnestrone of Swing, Latin, Ballroom, Zydeco and 50% will be Theme. Lesson at 8 PM. Dance 8:45 ish.
Gumbo is a mix of swing, Latin, ballroom, Waltz, Zydeco, and improv. If it is a "themed" Gumbo then half of the mix will be of that theme, and the other half will be the goulash of all the different dances. If it is a classic Gumbo then just the mix.

We do 50% of the Gumbo classic mix of Swing (East Coast, West Coast, and Lindy), Latin (Salsa, Cha Cha, Merengue, Cumbia, Bachata), Ballroom, Zydeco, Two Step, Improv, and Folk Waltz) and a few Shmoozers
50% of the theme of the evening whether Country Western, Lindy Hop, West Coast, Latin, Zydeco or the Dish Drainer Polska.
We sometimes have a lesson at 8 PM that lasts about 45 minutes. If not, we start at 8:30.

From I-40: Take Exit 281/Miami Blvd. north (rt off exit). Go 3 miles. You will pass a Shell station and traffic light at Lumley Road. 2603 is the second driveway on the right after Lumley Rd. next to Research Triangle Dentist -a two story non descript building with no sign and the parking lot is in the back. It is just across from America's Best Realty.
From Durham Freeway Hway 147: Take Durham Freeway South and East past downtown Durham. Exit Ellis Rd. Exit 8 and make a left off the exit ramp. Go under the highway and continue on Ellis for a mile or two until it ends on Miami Blvd. Right on Miami and go 0.8 miles. 2603 is right across the street from America's Best Realty and just before Research Triangle dentist. It is a white two story non-descript building with no sign and the parking lot is in the back.
