Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival

Twice yearly event held in rural Chatham County about 30 minutes Southwest of Chapel Hill in Silk Hope from Thursday to Sunday night. Multiple bands, workshops, children’s activities, food and crafts vendors. Bands include string bands, Zydeco, International, Country, Blues, and other with an emphasis on Roots Music. Headliners include Donna the Buffalo, The Duhks, Preston Frank, North Mississippi All Stars, and many more. There are three stages including a Dance Tent with mostly dance related activities. Workshops include Zydeco, Salsa, Swing, African Dance, Clogging, Hooping, and more. For Zydeco dancers Preston Frank and Donna the Buffalo will be playing Friday Night and Sunday afternoon and there is a Zydeco workshop Sunday afternoon before the band.
