Argentine Tango Workshop Weekend with Oscar Casas and Jae Youn!

Schedule is as follows:

7:15 pm –8:30 pm Workshop 1 – All levels
Essence of Milonguero – Dive into the essence of milonguero style – connection, musicality, and the subtle nuances that make tango come alive on the crowded dance floor.

8:30 pm – 12:30 am Welcome Milonga with DJ Rick Kim

12:30pm – 1:00pm Warm-up and Registration

1:00 pm – 2:15 pm Workshop 2 – Consecutive turns (giros): Turns on two axes are important for the development of the waltz. The termination of such involves the participation of the women with respect to adornments, and the musical presence of specific movements.

2:15 pm – 2:30pm Break

2:30 pm – 3:45 pm Workshop 3 – Milonga Pulse: Exploring various rhythm and tempo. Improve your technique and musicality in Milonga. Enhance your ability to improvise and respond to different rhythms and tempos

8:00 pm – 1:00 am Milonga Utopia – DJ Harvey Schwartz

1:00pm – 2:15 pm Workshop 4 – Cross System. The Cross System is far more than meets the eye; it is a dynamic and evolving framework that holds immense potential—offering a wealth of figures, ornamentation, and creative possibilities. By grasping and applying this system, which breathes life into the tango, you will gain a deeper appreciation for the intricacies of this beautiful dance. Get ready to embark on a journey into the fascinating realm of the Cross System, where endless wonders await!

1:15 pm – 1:30 pm Break

1:30 pm – 2:45 pm Workshop 5 – The dynamics of Enganche (leg wrap). Exploration of tango technique and intricacies of leg wrap – connections, Variations, and add texture and playfulness to your dance.
