2/3-5 14th Annual Triangle Open Ballroom Competition. Three day event with social Friday night 7 PM and competitions Saturday 12P-6PM and 7P-10:30 PM and Sunday 9A-2:30P. All events at Carmichael Gymnasium, NCSU Campus, Raleigh. Spectator full weekend pass $30. Do not see a price for the Fri Social. Competitions are $10 for the Sat afternoon and Sunday and $15 for the Sat night which I presume is the premier event. www.triangleopen.org

Out on the coast near Beaufort, this is the 20th Mardi Gras, sponsered by the Cajun/Zydeco band Unknown Tongues, it is a celebration of Louisiana Mardi Gras culture and a nice road trip.
