2/21 Mardi Gras Day. This is the real Mardi Gras date. In French, Fat Tuesday, also known as Shrove Tuesday. The last day before Lent, so time to get your partying in. In many cultures the entire week from Epiphany up until Lent is Mardi gras and Carnival. Famous celebrations are held in Rio de Janiero, New Orleans, Port of Spain, Trinidad. For any interested parties, we will continue the practice of mounting horseback and stealing chickens though may need to head to Bo Jangles for the latter. I will not provide bail.

 

2/21 Durham Mardi Gras Parade and Events. The Bull Town Strutters host the parade and events at Various downtown Durham venues. Pre parade party starts at Fullsteam at 4 PM. Meet at Pinhook at 6 PM, 6:30 at Beyu Cafe,  to CCB plaza 6:45 and parade starts, Riggsbee St. Bar at 7:30, Fullsteam at 7:45, 8:50 at Motorco. Music and shenanigans at all the venues. Facebook.

2/21 Mardi Gras Party at Papa Mojo's Roadhouse with Cajun Band Shamu Garcon at 6 PM, Rhonda Robichaux at 7, and Special Guest TBA at 8 (? Mel). Shamu plays Cajun Two Step and Waltz. Rhonda does a jazzy Nawlins soft sound. Check out her info and sounds Here $10 www.papamojosroadhouse.com

 

 

2/23 Mardi Gras Party at Hillsborough Depot Cajun band Shamu Garcon will play live two steps and waltzes and DJ Wolfy Jacques will be DJ'ing the best in Zydeco and Nawlins Rock and Swing. There will be a two step lesson from 7 to 7:40 with Jack Wolf and Sandra Smith.

  • 7:40- 8:20 Shamu Garcon live Cajun Music,
  • 8:20-9:20 Wolfy Jacques DJ'ing the best in Zydeco and Nawlins Swing, Rock, and Soul. Exspect to hear some Geno Delafose, Fats Domino, Louis Armstrong, Steve Riley, Nevilles, Rosie Ledet & More
  • 9:20-10:00 Shamu will take us out with more live Cajun Bon Temps.

 

The Hillsborough Depot is a beautiful venue with a big hardwood floor, one of the most dancable in the Triangle, and serves up beer, wine, coffee, sandwiches, and more.
